- Loyal Leaders
Welcome back to the Codemaster Chronicles and our continuing preview of Forged Unity. There is less than one week until the pre-release events for this set (June 13th or 14th) and the excitement continues to build. We’ve saved the best for last.
The four previous articles previewing Forged Unity showcased some of the mixed tribe designs on which the set focuses like Tangath Torborn, OverWorld General or Kepiaan, Danian Lieutenant. It’s been cool to see players talking in the forums about how these cards are encouraging them to reexamine mixed tribe armies. Some players have even already posted army builds using the new cards.
But player loyalty towards their favorite tribes run strong and many Chaotic fans want to see what we’ve included in the set for those that want to continue evolving their mono-tribe strategies. Well fear not! Forged Unity contains many cards that are not part of the multi-tribe theme including the two cards I’m previewing here.
Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado I give you Maxxor and Chaor!

I’ll wait while you drool over these ultra-rare bad boys…
Still drooling?
Ummm… I kind of need to continue the article. How about you continue drooling later?
Since the start of Chaotic Maxxor and Chaor have been the creature stars of the show and card game. We put a lot of time and thought into these designs and we hope you’re as happy with them as we are.
Maxxor is the fearless leader of the OverWorld and he is determined to save Perim from the M’arrillian invasion. He is done ceding land to the M’arrillian footholds. He is done retreating. Every blow against the OverWorld he feels and he is channeling all of that back at the aquatic invaders. This new version of Maxxor has great discipline scores, two elements, high energy, and an awesome ability. Every attack against him just means he’ll hit back that much harder.
Chaor is the tyrant of the UnderWorld. His throne has been stolen from him and he is a lord in exile. He will stop at nothing to push Aa’une and his minions back out of a world Chaor views as rightfully his own. Chaor’s wrath is mighty and terrible to behold! He has channeled all of his vengeance into the element of fire for the greatest stand alone damage boost we’ve ever put on a card. This incredible damage acceleration coupled with good stats and a very high energy makes him a match for any foe.
Maxxor and Chaor play to the strengths of their respective tribes. Maxxor’s ability gets better and better the longer the fight goes on. His OverWorld buddies have plenty of abilities and mugic to make sure Maxxor is around to land the last blow. Chaor is an excellent example of the UnderWorld’s intense ability to focus on a single thing (like roasting their opponents in a raging inferno). His Fire 10 ability and high energy may make him the best stand alone fighter we’ve ever made.
Well there you go. I think these two creatures are, perhaps, the two most exciting ones we’ve made since Chaotic launched. Go to the forums and let us know if you agree.
Wait… what’s that? You want more? Are you Mipedian fans feeling left out of these preview articles? Well I’ve got something for you as well. Some of you may have heard rumors or seen on the forums that Forged Unity will contain a creature with more energy than we’ve ever printed on a card before (and that includes the Avatar side of Aa’une). Well I’m here to tell you it’s a Mipedian Warbeast and his energy score is through the roof. Its energy is so high we needed to use a smaller font just to fit it into the energy box on the card. I can’t show you the entire card so you’ll just have to be satisfied with the peek below. You’ll be seeing its disciplines and ability soon enough.

That’s all I’ve got for you this week. I hope to see you all at the pre-release where we’ll be saying to each other, “Let’s get Chaotic!”
